The Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development (INTRD), in partnership with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) are recruiting for an Iceland Trade Show / Mission taking place October 29 - November 3, 2008.
An information session was held on June 18, 2008 with companies to discuss the Iceland market, potential opportunities, the new Canada-European Free Trade Agreement and the upcoming Trade Show / Mission. Below are copies of the presentations given by our guest speakers on these topics.
We are looking for 20-25 Exhibitors for the Trade Show and 10 Business Delegates for the Trade Mission. Deadline for recruitment is Friday, July 11th, 2008. In order to be considered for this initiative, you must have your application and fee payment ($500 per company) in by that date. Application and guidelines for our International Trade Assistance Program (ITAP) funding are listed below. Please see below 'Trade Show and Mission Presentation' for more details on the Trade Show / Mission.
There has been much success for Newfoundland and Labrador companies in Iceland. Since 2005 there have been 3 trade missions, a Trade Show, and most recently, an MOU was signed between the two regions.
