In markets as far away as Japan, Chile and the United Kingdom, Newfoundland and Labrador companies are proving that they have the quality products and services to compete internationally.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Export Awards were established in 1983 to recognize the efforts of local businesses that achieved export success. The Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development coordinates this program, in partnership with the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters Newfoundland and Labrador Division. The awards provide exposure for our province's top exporters and encourage potential exporters to consider looking beyond our borders for new markets.Export Awards 2002

On May 29th, the Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development announced our province's 
Exporters of the Year. These four companies were honoured for their excellence in exporting goods and services.

2002 Award Winners
The 2002 Awards are offered in the following categories:

  • Goods Export Award: Canadian Iceberg Vodka Corp.
    Companies or divisions of companies that have been exporting goods for three years or more.

  • Services Export Award: xwave
    Companies or divisions of companies that have been exporting services for three years or more.

  • Interprovincial Trade Award: Rodrigues Winery
    Companies or divisions of companies that have been involved in trade with one or more of the provinces in Canada for three years or more.

  • New Exporter Award: Garrison Guitars
    Companies or divisions of companies that are a new exporter who has successfully exported a product or service within the last three years.
