Introducing Newfoundland and Labrador

The Ambassador Program can be described as a global network of champions providing vital links between Newfoundland and Labrador and worldwide business communities.

The Program is a communications initiative that promotes Newfoundland and Labrador both here at home and around the world.

Our dynamic and growing economy, our strategic advantages for business development and investment, our highly skilled workforce and our unique culture and quality of life are some of the messages that the Ambassador Newfoundland and Labrador Program is sharing.

By spreading our messages far and wide, we are achieving great success!

We are breaking down barriers in national and international markets, educating others about what we have to offer, dispelling outdated notions people may have about this Province, and ultimately contributing to the economic diversification and development of Newfoundland and Labrador's place as a leader in the Canadian economy.

The Network.

Connected to the World

The Ambassador Program is connected to more than 15 countries through a network of individuals and business contacts and uses a personal approach to fostering relationships between government officials, the private sector, and the national and international business communities.

It is these individuals and business contacts that make up our Ambassador Network and promotes Newfoundland and Labrador, both here at home and around the world.

Representing this Network are resident Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, expatriates, and ‘friends’ of the province. Each has in common a willingness to help that is coupled with the influence and capability to positively affect economic growth in our province.

Our bimonthly newsletter The Ambassador, is a voice for success stories about enterprising people and innovations from across our province.

Getting Involved

Participation in the program is voluntary and contact with our Ambassadors is facilitated through staff of The Ambassador Program of the Department of Industry, Trade and Rural Development.

The Ambassador network is our connection to the rest of the world, and as such is an integral part of the Program and Province’s successes. As an Ambassador you proudly represent Newfoundland and Labrador.

In addition to your personal efforts, from time to time, you may be invited to attend an event on behalf of the Province or to give a talk about the Province to specific audiences in your area.

We do realize that as an Ambassador your efforts are on a volunteer basis, however, whenever possible we would greatly appreciate your participation. Although your assistance will be of benefit to the Province, it is also a great opportunity to network with Ambassadors in your community and, in turn, be of potential benefit to you.
